Cantaloupe, Honey, and Orange Blossom Cocktail

Jump to Recipe
cantaloupe cocktail in coupe glass with slice of melon

Since I was introduced into orange blossom water from middle eastern dishes, I am obsessed with its sweet floral flavor.

Especially l love the combination of orange blossom water and honey.

I made orange blossom honey ice cream one summer, that was great hit for both my husband and myself.

For this cocktail, I wanted capture elegant flower hints of orange blossom and mild sweetness of cantaloupe melon. I picked gin for the base for not overpowering delicacy of cantaloupe. Gin’s vegetal nature is blended really well with floral fragrance of orange blossom. Rich sweetness of honey syrup adds a little weight to the body of the drink. I didn’t want strong citrus panch into this delicate drink, so I add tiny portions of both lime and lemon juice for adding subtle tangy note rather than overwelming citrus taste.

For cantaloupe melon juice, you can use either electric blender or electric juicer. Juicer makes clear thin juice, on the other hand, blender makes thicker viscose puree, but both works great for this cocktail.
