Melon and Basil Cocktail

Equipment

  • Electric Blender or Electric Juicer

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces light rum (Plantation 3 Stars)
  • 1/2 ounce falernum (John D Taylor’s)
  • 1/2 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice
  • 2 ounces cantaloupe melon puree see note
  • 5 fresh basil leaves

GARNISH

  • Melon slice
  • Fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass filled with ice; shake and strain into a glass with crushed ice. Garnish with melon slice and basil leaves.

Notes

For melon puree, cut and peel melon. Remove seeds and cut into bite sizes. Use an electric blender to puree until smooth, or use an electric juicer to squeeze the juice.
