This drink is focusing on the natural combination of summer flavors: melon and basil.
I used light rum to pair with these delicate summer flavors.
Since I started cocktail making, I love using falernum, it adds not only sweetness to the drink but also more complex depth with hints of clove and ginger, and I feel falernum enhances delicate sweetness of cantaloupe melon.
This refreshing summer cocktail can be enjoyed on its own in summer sunshine or paired with anything melon dishes. Next time when you have melon and prosciutto, does melon and basil cocktail sound good, doesn’t it?
